Why THM? 

I joined THM as I was wanted to work in an entrepreneurial environment that was “hands-on” and at the centre of large and complex restructuring transactions.

Prior to joining THM I worked for a boutique restructuring advisory firm and prior to that in the Transaction Services team at Deloitte.  I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the financial services audit team at Deloitte in 2006.

My THM experience.

Since joining THM as a Senior Associate in 2012, I have been involved in restructuring processes across a number of sectors including retail, construction and real estate.  On these projects, I’ve worked side by side with partners in small teams that advised the management and boards of companies in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and more recently for a short period in China.

Given the nature of what we do, my work has always been varied with each project bringing different challenges.  This has meant that I’ve been involved with a wide variety of workstreams since joining the firm, including building financial models and short-term cash flow forecasts, preparing budgets, drafting management presentations, managing relationships with stakeholders and reporting to the boards of companies and their lenders.

It is this combination of working collaboratively in small teams on complex situations across a range of sectors that I find most rewarding about my career at THM as no one day is ever the same.

How do I manage my work life balance? 

There are obviously some trade-offs due to the nature of what we do but THM is a very collegiate firm and the team always does its best to help manage the work life balance as much as possible.  

Other information about me. 

I studied Accounting and Finance at Warwick University before embarking on my career.  I have two young children, love travelling, and I am a keen sports fan (well, watching it at least….).
